Jelly boats

Jelly boats for a kids party

These jelly treats would make great deserts for a Pirate party .  They are incredibly easy to make and look great on any party table.

4 large oranges
Different flavoured packets of jelly
Cocktail sticks
Plain white paper

1. With a sharp knife, remove the inside flesh of the oranges make sure you do not make a hole in the skin of the oranges.

2. Make up your flavoured jelly but follow the instructions using only half the amount of water as you will need a much more concentrated jelly to hold its shape.  I placed my orange halves in a muffin tray to keep them steady then placed in the fridge to set.

3. Cut the oranges in half with a sharp knife. Cut of sails from your paper and attach to the jelly boats with a cocktail stick.

  2. As a father to 2 I love the idea, and we will be trying this in our next Pirate of the Caribbean birthday party. Many thanks for the ideas.
